Fatal dog bites are not common Local toddler killed last week By CATHY WILSON Staff Writer Last week’s dog attack that killed a Hertford child met two of three criteria usually found in fatal dog bites. The majority of those killed are children, most over one year of age, and the majority of cases involve unrestrained dogs on the owners’ property.” Ten-month-old James Hudson died Sept. 11 after- a large family dog bit him repeatedly in his grand mother’s home where he lived on West Railroad Street in Hertford.
